My July reads
Hi Everyone, welcome to my reads of July. I actually had some more time to read in July since I was the last week of July on Vacation and made reading and enjoying the sun my priority for my mental well being.
I read 6 books in July, that is a lot. I did not think that I was reading so much but I guess I have. I always put my read books on a separate stack for the month and I was surprised of how much I actually read. Ok without talking too much more lets start on the review.
Happy reading!
Maybe this Time from Jill Mansell
Jill Mansell is one of my favorite Authors, so when I started reading this book I knew I couldn’t put it away. I think I read the book within 2 days. The story line is basically that Mimi, finds her boyfriend and her best friend making out. She quits her job and moves to her dad in the countryside. There she met a guy she is attracted too but he is married. She is making new friends and has problems finding a job. Some tragic happens with her dad. He was in a car accident and died with him where 4 other people only one person survived. The surviver is Mimi’s future best friend. Does Mimi finds love and happiness in the end again? If you read a book from Jill Mansell before you know the answer.
The last book of the trilogy, and I have to say I’m happy. it kinda got boring at the end. I think 2 books were enough. The last book just stretched the story more out. Elin Hilderbrand put some dramatic in this book with a storm coming through the Caribbean. Irene, Baker and Cash all move to the island. Cash has a romance with Tilda, a rich girl who tries to prove that she can work as well. baker has his eyes set on Aya, but she accepted the proposal from her former boyfriend and Irene finds the comfort from Huck. There is a lot of drama going on and still trying to figure out if the Helicopter accident was really an accident. But this books more bout of the lives of the rest of the family. I think if you read the first two books you have to read the third one as well.
You will find ohh y gosh moments and awwww thetas so cute moments in this book.
Ok the whole time I thought this is the last book. We will find out wha happen to Mercy. So I was super eager to read this book. Atlee gets some time off from the field office after basically beating a man into a coma. I mean the man hat it coming, he kidnapped a kit, but there was no reason for her to beat him up that bad. Well while she is off work, she and her assistant travel to New Jersey, where she will have a breakthrough in finding mercer or was happen to Mercy, What makes this book interesting while she is looking for answers she of curse comes in contact with another case, which John Puller, from the John Puller series, is involved in. Conspiracy as is finest, she is helping Puller in his case and Puller is helping her find answers to Mercy. Did she find the answers, for sure she found some of it. And it actually makes you so sad to hear what mercy had to endure during her childhood. But the question is still there is Mercy still alive?
So after reading this book I was like, wait?? it doesn’t have a close ending. So I googled the author to find out the fourth book of this series will come out in November. it does give you a nice cliffhanger at the end. I preordered my book already.
The second book of this series, I can not wait to see what happen. If the helicopter crash was an accident and why will happen to Baker and Ayers? They all are recovering from the shock still. Cash is getting romantically involved with Tilda, he is not that much head over heals for Ayers anymore. Huck asked Ayers to clean out Rosies room. Maybe they find something, and let me tell you she finds a Hugh surprise there. Actually 2 huh surprises. One is Ayers found Rosies diary. She decided to not tell Huck about it yet. She started reading them and you hear about the whole Storie how Rosie met Russ and how their relationship evolved. Did Ayers tell Huck about in the end? We will see. It was a nice romantic, dramatic book.
This book was interesting, different from the books I usually read. But also kinda the same. if that makes sense. This book is about Maribeth, she works hard and feels like she is doing everything. So when she gets a heart attack and work, she doesn’t even register it. She thought its some heartburn. When she has a doctors appointment the next day, the doctor is sending her straight to the ER. She will be in the hospital overnight for observation but something went wrong and she is in there for a while longer. When she comes home, her husband brought her mother to help. But her mother is not really help more like a burden. When the day nurse is coming in to help her and see who she is doing? Maribeth breaks down. After a week she just up and leaves, her husband, two kids and mother behind. she just leaves a note, takes money out of her bank account and takes a train. she started a new live. Now you thin how could she? Will she ever go back, contact her husband? The answer to the questions is maybe? for the you have to read the book. I kinda felt related to her, even though I don’t have children, in someways I think almost every mother can relate to her problems. I really like reading this book.
The second book in this series to find Mercy. I love reading books from a series. In this book, Atlee will travel back to her hometown with her assistant Carol to find out about her childhood and maybe what happen to Mercy her twin sister. She will find so much more then she expected. Who actually were her parents? Is her father her real father? These questions are coming up during this book. It is a suspend, intruding book. Of course while she is in her hometown a murder happen. There hasn’t been a murder in over 20 years. But the day after she arrives there it is. She is going to help solve the case with the local police, just to find out its actually a serial killer. So they get help from the FBI. The person who comes in no other then a rival from her day when they worked in the same unit. Can they work together to figure out who the serial killer is and what happen to Mercy? They sure can. I know this time I decided to not leave you with a cliffhanger.
If you like thrillers, this is a good book. You get a lot of ohhh my gosh moments with this book.
