Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I heard about the Nordstrom Sale from other bloggers. Before that I had no idea that Nordstrom is dong this kind of Sale. I mean it’s my first year of doing the blog. So I thought I’ll look into it. I did shop at Nordstrom previously but I always looked at the marked down racks. It is just a bit expensive if you live on a budget like me. So fast forward, i downloaded the Nordstrom app on my phone and looked up the anniversary sell. I thought ok. Personally I didn’t see anything I want really. So I decided to go to my local Nordstrom and see what they actually have and ohhhh boy, there was a lot where I said I want this. But is it worth opening up a credit card to shop it? I literally debated for 2 days if I should do it. I heard on Instagram from some bloggers that is the item is sold out it might now come back again and some brands rarely going on sale as well. So on the day of the sale for cardholders I did open a card with them. I still created a budget for myself and I stick to it. I ordered some item online but went to my local Nordstrom as well. I did want to try on shoes, I don’t really like buying shoes online. of course I bought some more items then just a pair of shoes.
These are the items I bought in store. I’m still waiting for my orders to get shipped. Some of the items I ordered online where cancelled 🙁 oh well. I did splurge a bit on 2 items, the faux leather spanx leggings and the barefoot dreams cardigan. But then I looked at the price tag for after the sale and I was kinda sold. I remember seeing last year the spanx leggings a lot. But I would never have paid the prize for them. Is it worth it??? After trying them on, yes it worth the money. They are so comfy., I’m going to wear them a lot this year fall and winter. But still if they wouldn’t be on sale i doubtI would have bought them.
The Barefoot dream cardigan, ohhh my is that soft. Me being always cold this is going to be perfect I just know it. I heard the cardigan is running big. My local Nordstrom only had the m/l size left but they offered to order the xs/s. I tried on the m/l and was surprised it fit perfect. the sleeves were long enough (I have a lot of problems with the sleeve lengths) and it didn’t look oversizes or too big. So I decided to stick with the m/l.
I did get both colors of the Thread and Supply Wubby fleece pullover just because I couldn’t make up my mind which color I like better. I did find last year on a sale rack the grey color and I love it. That is the only reason I bought both colors. And they will keep me nice and warm during the fall/winter. Do we actually have a real winter in California? No we don’t. But it’s cold enough for me that I can get a good use out of the pullovers.
I touched the Top Shop super soft sweater and joggers and I was ohhh my god is that soft. I’m all bout being comfortable in my cloth especially when I’m at home. I did try on my true size in the joggers and went up a size in the top, just because I would like to have a bit oversized. The pants fitted well but I was a bit unsure so I got me a size up, and the top looked kind of super loose around my hips, I didn’t like it. So I sized down. The pants in a medium fitted well better then the small. They are a bit looser but that is perfect and it has a drawstring. The sweater in a small fit way better then in the medium. The sleeve length was still long enough for me without having any concerns.
Shoes, i don’t think I’m a real girl. I never really cared about shoes. I mostly wear sneakers and in the summer time flip flops. That’s it. I always bought shoes that does not cost more then $30. Know I know that is not always good. I decided to buy me some good fashionable shoes. I mean I’m 8 hours on my feet a day at work. So I should think a bit more about my feet. The adidas edge lux 3 running shoe is really soft on the bottom. I did size down half a size. I got me the 7 1/2. I walked in them for a bit in Nordstrom and I did not feel anything uncomfortable. Nothing poked or was too tight. And I think the prize is ok for these shoes. (on sale not regular)
The other pair I bought me were the Blondo Georgette waterproof sneakers. I tried them on my regular size because that was what the sales associated recommended. But I noticed they were a bit big. She gave me the 7 1/2 to try on. I did not feel that much of a difference just that at the ankle it was a bit tighter but the length was almost the same. I never really wear heels or wedges, I’m already tall i don’t want to hover over people. But with these shoes I have to say it doesn’t feel like I am that much taller. As I walked in them in the department I did notice that the sole under my heal is a bit hard. I wished it would be soft. But then I can just put a gel insert in and would be fine. I’m going to buy me an insert and see how it feels. If it doesn’t work I might return the shoe. If I wear the shoe for a short time I think I would be fine but I have to think about it when I’m at work, I’m walking a lot and that might get uncomfortable after a while.
Cardigans, do you think I’m obsessed with them? Yes for sure. I don’t think you can have too many, maybe you do. I for sure have a lot. I just like to wear a t-shirt, leggings or jeans and a cardigan on top.
I got me another barefoot dream cardigan. Two bp cardigans they are so soft perfect for lounging at home. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep the fluffy cardigan from Caslon and the stripe cardigan from Madewell. They are both soft and fit really well. The Madewell is a size to big but it was the last one they had in store. It is a bit pricier but it is made out of Merino wool and Alpaca. So the price is ok. I’m just not 100% sure about it. The Caslon is super soft, but I also just bought me the Barefoot dream cardigan, so do I need another super soft cardigan? I really don’y know. You will find out in the fall if I kept or returned them.
I’m going to update this post when my other items arrive and i tried them on. Util then I hope you guys had fun shopping the sale and got what you wanted.
