Real Uggs or dupes??

The question here is not just which one are better? It’s which can I afford.

I would say since I was in my twenties I wanted a pair of real Uggs. Every time I saw them in a store, it sucked seeing them because I couldn’t afford them. Instead I bought the cheap no brand Uggs. They are good too. Some are better then others. Last year was the first time I bought some real Uggs. I saw them in a store for half the price they are normally are. It still was a hard decision. I never spent over $50 on a pair of shoes. I put the Uggs in my card and walked around with them. I couldn’t just justify to spent the money. In the end I bough them. And I love them.

So to the point which are better? I have to say both are great, real and dupes. You can have luck with some dupes and they last you for a long time. Or you can have some they last you only one winter if you are lucky. I had both. There are some brands like Bearpaw or Sketchers those dupes last maybe longer then from a retail store like Target, Old Navy or H&M. I have to say one really good thing about the dupes are that they come in a lot of different colors, prints and styles. So if you want to experiment with shoes that would be a great way to do it without breaking the bank. You can buy around 4-5 pairs or one pair of real ones. It is a hit and miss with the dupes. You never know…

I do own a pair of Bearpaw and I have to say they are very similar to the real Uggs. They are super cozy and keep my feet really warm. They lasted me 3 years. So I can not complain about them at all.

Now after 4 years the sole is broken. I probably could fixit with glue but I never had luck doing it with other shoes. So it’s time to retire those. I wore the heck out fo them. Every winter they were my go to shoes if I needed to stay extra warm. The fake faux didn’t lost too much density over the years as well.

My sketchers shoes I’m not that happy with. For one the shaft is super wide. So it’s not tight snug like the original Uggs. When I tried them on of course I loved them. I have those ones for 4 years now and barely wear them anymore. Honestly I can’t remember the last time I wore them. They are still in good shape. It’s just they don’t have a lot of faux fur inside, they are kinda on the thin side and are stretched out.

They do look pretty worn I have to say and I wore them a lot in the beginning. But I got me the Bearpaw ones after and just wore those instead.

I also have some no brand Uggs from retailers like Target, Old Navy and H&M for example. Some are lasting a long time and some I throw out after one winter. my favorite pair I have for 3 years now I believe. They are more like booties and have a cuff on the top. But then I also have some real look alike and they lost their shape quit quick.

I love the pink ones with the bow in the back. I wear a lo of pink tops, so I thoughtI need matching shoes. The brown ones are the most look alike I have. The bad thing is that they lost their shape and not looking cute at all anymore. The black ones are my favorite. I just love the look of it. If I want to wear black bootie Uggs these are my go to shoes. They are still in pretty good shape. The cuff are like a knit material and give you a different look. I have those for 2 years now.

My real Uggs, I love them. Sometimes I just don’t want to wear them, because I don’t want that they get dirty, stretching out or something happen to them. I paid quit some money for them and don’t want to ruin them. Yes I know I’m wired that way.

I got me last year some high Uggs in black and brown. Wore them all of last winter and don’t have one complain. They stayed in shape, the faux fur didn’t lost it’s density and the sole didn’t break either. I’m really happy with them.

So this year when the Nordstrom Anniversary sale happen I bought me some Ugg booties. I swear I wore them so much already. I love them they are so cute and comfy. The only negative I have to say that the shaft expose quit some of your leg/ foot. So I always wear them with socks, even though you shouldn’t wear Uggs with socks. I also got me the booties with the faux fur on the top around your ankle. Those are comfy, let me tell you. I’m just afraid that the fur is getting quick dirty or dingy.

The first picture you can see what I mean with the shaft. You get used tout I wouldn’t wear them in the snow. I did bought me the house slippers from Ugg as well but returned them really quick. They were really uncomfortable for me. They pinched on the top of my foot and it wasn’t; comfortable to walk in them.

Fazit: real Uggs or dupes?

I love them both. I’m really happy that I can afford to buy me the real ones now, but I think I never will stop buying the dupes. Dupes come in a lot more prints and colors, so it’s safer to buy those especially if they might be only trendy for one season.

I think if you can afford one pair of real Uggs, go for it. Grab the black or tan ones. You can wear them all the time, not just one season. Also look for deals/coupons especially during the holiday time you might find them cheaper. That is when I would buy them. I didn’t pay full price for mine and I think I will never do.

If you don’t have the money for real ones, there are really great dupes out there. I do can recommend the Bearpaw brand. They are a third of what the real Uggs cost and have the same feel as the real ones. You even can get the no brand from retailers, they have great ones too. For even cheaper then the Bearpaw.

All in all make the decision based on your budget and don’t get bully into buying something you can’t afford.

Until next time…
