If I’m totally honest here. Until I would say a year ago I had no idea about self tanner. I always got my tan from being outside in the sun or in the winter month I went to a tanning salon. This was big when I was in my twenties. Now if I look back and had known about self tanner earlier I so would have used it.

I started trying self tanner a month ago. Since we are in quarantine, I thought I’m going to try it out. I don’t go anywhere, so if it looks funny, no one will see it. I did have some self tanner from my Fab Fit Fun package. So I didn’t have to buy some. I actually had two different ones. One was a body spray, the other a body lotion. I gave the body spray a first try. I did everything the instruction told me to do. With literally no effect. I didn’t see any difference at all. The before and after was the same. I thought ohh well, this might not be something for me. That maybe my skin is not reaction to it. But that would be weird, because I have quit some sensitive skin.
So I decided to order me some express tan, everyone is raving about. I decided to go with a small bottle first. For two reason, one I did not want to spend a lot of money if it doesn’t work and second I just want to try and see if I like it. I always can buy me a bigger bottle later.

When the express tanner came in the mail, I tried it out the next day. Let me tell you this was a big thump down. I did not see any difference, not even the slightest. I was really disappointed.

I decided to watch how other people applying self tanner to see if they do something different then what I did. The only difference I saw, was that they used the double amount of self tanner then I did. I knew I still have one self tanner I didn’t try yet. I decided it is a big bottle, lets go for it. I used a lot. And yay it worked. I did see a difference. Even my husband said “wow you look tan”. So I was happy with the result. I think you just have to use a lot to actually see a difference.
I always try that the products last for a long time, so I never use a lot, always try to use a minimum. But with self Taner you can not do this.
But hey, know I know.
